So what I'm going to post here is what I had to go through to mount a Baja exhaust on a full fendered and aproned 1967 Beetle. This is what the car looked like before I started: In order to make the exhaust fit I had to trim away that black panel where the exhaust is. I started out by trying to use a Rotozip, but after breaking about 5 bits, this was as far as I had gotten: So it was pretty obvious that wasn't going to work. I went to Home Depot and found some blades for the Rotozip so I bought those. Got home, realized I needed an attachment to be able to put the blades on the Rotozip. Went back the next day, and got that attachment. Got home, realized attachment doesn't work with my model of Rotozip. Returned all that shit, and bought some metal wheels for the Dremel. I used the Dremel for small detail cuts and a cut off wheel with a metal wheel for the big sweeping cuts. Once I had everything cut I went to pull the piece out but it wouldn't budge. I decided to cut away a few pieces at a time, and that made it a lot easier to take the pieces out. Once I got all the pieces off, I ground the cut down to make it look nicer, painted around the edge a little to prevent rust, and then capped it off with the door edge guard stuff old people use on their car doors. Here's the end result: And remember kids, always use protection: The exhaust is still touching the body in one place, so I have to do some trimming, but for the most part, that's it.

I have the manx for mine, have'nt started it yet. Did your pipes go beside the valve cover? I have a new set of j-tubes i was gonna try to weld on if it was gonna require too much cutting. are your temps ok to daily like this?

The plan is to daily it. The pipes that hug in really tight won't work on a full fendered car. Regular J-tubes like these are what you need to be able to run this exhaust setup, assuming you buy a system for a car with the heat in place: bugeyed.net/heater-box-j-tubes-all-up-right-engines-ceramic-coated.html
