I've got a 1970 beetle and I'm lowering it. I've managed to drop the back end without breaking the car or a limb. Now on to installing my new beam with ratchet adjusters. I'm going to be reusing as much as possible from my old balljoint beam. Everything seems in good shape except the shock towers which are rusted out. Any tips or tricks to a painless teardown and swap?

How difficult was it to lower the rear? I plan on lowering mine once I get it back together.

Well I had no clue what I was doing and spent about 6 hours getting the rear where I wanted it. But it turned out great.

I just did the same with the rear of mine. Had NO clue wtf I was doing when I started. Read on it a little. Took me all afternoon to figure out the left side, but once I did that, the right was a cake walk. Dialed her in, replaced the bushings, and done deal. She sits much prettier now, and I don't get nose bleeds from being so high in the air.
